William Scott Exhibition View and Lecture

25 September 2013

A recording, that William Scott made of a lecture he prepared for a British Council tour of his work, has been discovered. Because the slides survives, we are able to reconstruct something quite special and unique: a one-off event in the Council Chamber in the Guildhall. Professor Michael Tooby will introduce the virtual William, explain the context, and lead the discussion after the lecture. The Chamber is an important room with fine panelling and portraits.

Mike Tooby is Professor of Art and Design at Bath School of Art and Design, Bath Spa University, and acting Dean of the School of Art and Design for academic year 2012-13. He was Director, National Museum and Gallery, (2000 2003) and, Director of Learning, Programmes and Development (2003-11), for Amgueddfa Cymru. National Museum Wales.

This event has been organised by a local supporter group to help raise money for the Art Fund.
