10 January – 29 March 2009
Victoria Art Gallery, Bath, is presenting a retrospective of John Eaves’ paintings.
It includes three works by former Head of Painting at Bath Academy of Art, William Scott, who taught John Eaves.
“I hope this small tribute to my painting tutor at Bath Academy of Art serves to indicate his standing as one of the most influential and important improvisers in British painting in the latter half of the 20th century. His deceptively simple style belied an extraordinary appreciation for paint in all its sensuality.” John Eaves, 2008
