Sight and Sound

21 February 2017

Sight and Sound is a celebration of the associations and connections that exist between the musical and the visual art worlds.

The concert features music by Caffrey, Wilson, McDonnell, Feldman, Hellawell & McCann and two finalist works from the 1st Peter Rosser Composition Award, colliding with the imaginings of Fine Art Graduate Artists in Residence from Belfast School of Art, Ulster University and resulting in a unique visual and musical collaboration. Other works included here take their inspiration in the paintings of William Scott and Léon Spilliaert. It is also fitting that the ensemble, no strangers to Morton Feldman’s music, will feature another of the maverick American’s works, for whom the visual arts, and painting in particular, provided such a stimulus.

Set in the unique environment of the Ulster Museum for an evening that will “resonate” for a long time!
